Family Day
Fit 4 the Dogs, Healthy Dog Festival by Caring K9s Therapy Dogs, Maui is holding their second ever fundraising event. It is a Dog-themed event focusing on creating a fun and safe lifestyle for pets. There will be a variety of activities for people and their dogs, including carnival games for dogs and their owners, a photo booth, style contest and parade, massage for dogs and owners, and many other fabulous things to do. Well-mannered dogs on leash are welcome! When: January 18 from 9:30am to1:00pm. Where: Queen Kaahumanu Center.
Jazz at The Shops at Wailea – Mark Johnstone is a free New Year’s Day performance for all located in the upper level luxury wing at The Shops at Wailea from 5:30 to 7:pm. Johnstone, a Maui local, renowned his keyboard and guitar skill set can be found showcasing his talents across the island.
Join Willie K for an electrifying night as he hosts special guests like Alice Cooper, Dave Mason, Gretchen Rhodes, John Akapo, and the Deborah Vial Band, for a fun mix of special performances. The annual Willie K & Friends Bluesfest inspires many with a diverse range of musical genres. Tickets: $10 (kids 2-12/general admission), $40 (adult/general admission), $65, $85 with a limited number of $250 VIP packages (plus applicable fees). When: Saturday, January 4th at 6:00pm. Where: A&B Amphitheater/Yokouchi Pavilion at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center.
The Arts & Culture
With more than 15 years of commitment to the craft of Hula, Hālau Kekuaokalā’au’ala’iliahi, began its hula journey with 75 brave students. Since then, over 300 students, have also joined that journey to create a flourishing ohana. Kekuaokalā’au’ala’iliahi presents KE’ALA’ILIAHI, a 15 year celebration of hula. Sharing mele, hula, and stories from their memories. A preshow program starts at 3:0pm with entertainment, silent/live auctions, and Hawaiian arts & craft marketplace. Tickets: $36, General Admission (plus applicable fees). When: Sunday, January 12th from 5:00pm to 10:00pm. Where: Maui Arts & Cultural Center.
