Yoga With Maui Goats?

What is Goat Yoga?

Goat Yoga is the latest “in” trend sweeping the nation, similar to how avocado toast has risen to recognition across the nation. Hailed by a variety of media outlets, Goat Yoga was designed with a similar intent to animal therapy and is viewed as a way to make your yoga experience more intimate and unique!

Goat yoga is essentially an open air yoga class with goats moving about and given the freedom to join the class as they wish. Instead of using the ground, the goats will use you as their base for attempting their own version of downward dog!

Welcome to Maui Goat Yoga

Sitting 3000 feet above sea level, Maui Goat Yoga will easily be one of the most unique yoga classes you will ever get to experience! Offering yoga classes overlooking a 360 degree backdrop of Haleakala and Maui’s stunning coast line, Kula in Upcountry Maui offers a different perspective than what most people think of Hawaii.

Aside from the regular benefits of yoga, adding goats to your yoga classes adds another dimension of benefits including psychological benefits of animal-assisted therapy while exercising and challenging your physical and mental capacity.  Via their website, each class “is addicting and makes you smile!”

While many locals enjoy the class, Maui Goat Yoga works to accommodate visitors from around the world. They offer $5 mat rentals if you don’t feel like bringing yours or are not able to pack it in your suit case. Please be sure to book your spot ahead of time, walk ins are not allowed.

Yoga Classes

  1. The first is the classic Maui Goat Yoga class with miniature goats that costs $32 and goes for 1 hour and 15 minutes. The classes are offered weekly on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
  2. The second option is Sunset Maui Goat Happy Hour. This class is held every Friday from 4:30 to 5:45 p.m. and costs $52.

Meet (some of) the Goats

Alfredo or “Alfi” is yet to still arrive at Maui Goat Yoga, but will be the newest addition to the family!

Bella Luna is one of our newest additions to Maui Goat Yoga. She was born to be in the Maui Goat Yoga family because of her large white crescent moon on her side.

Tsunami is another new addition to the Maui Goat Yoga family and arrived at the same time as Bella Luna.

Sweet Pea and Cookie are twins and just adore each other. They love to jump and play and head butt each other off any high box or plank.
