April 2026 Calendar of Events

Top 5 Events on Maui for April 2026

Aloha April 2026 and welcome back to your hand curated Maui monthly calendar of events! This is one of those Maui months where your calendar can be as full (or as relaxed) as you want it to be. Early April brings Easter weekend fun and a strong run of MACC events, mid-month takes us all the way to Hāna for a cultural festival that locals truly cherish, and the month wraps with marathon weekend in Kāʻanapali—one of the island’s biggest “wow, look at everyone out here” mornings.

The unified World Windsurfing Tour is proud to announce the return of the Quatro Maui Pro, the opening 5-Star Major of the 2026 WWT season. Set against the dramatic backdrop of Hoʻokipa Beach Park, the spiritual home of windsurfing, this year’s event promises to be nothing short of historic. The world’s best wave sailors will descend on Maui’s iconic break, armed with motivation, momentum, and unfinished business.

As the first 5-Star World Cup event of the season, the Quatro Maui Pro carries maximum 100% ranking points, and maximum pressure. Every top ranked sailor on the World Wave Tour knows that a strong result here sets the tone for an entire season. The field reads like a who’s who of the sport’s greatest: Reigning World Wave Champion Marc Paré of Spain; last year’s Maui Pro champion Brazil’s Marcilio Browne; Germany’s 5x World Champion Philip Köster; join local legends Kai Lenny, Morgan Noireaux, and Bernd Roedige who all are masters of every patch of Ho’okipa reef, every swell angle, every shift in the trades.

When: Monday, March 30 to Friday, April 3
Where: Hookipa Beach Park, North Shore of Maui

Starry Night Cinema: How to Train Your Dragon (Apr 3, 2026)

Courtesy: Maui Arts & Cultural Center

One of the best do something fun that doesn’t cost a dime nights on Maui. Starry Night Cinema at the MACC is a family-friendly classic: bring a low-back chair or a blanket, get the kids settled on the lawn, and enjoy a community movie night under the evening sky. Gates open early (5:30PM), and recommend arriving in time for pre-show entertainment and keiki activities before the film. A few important logistics to know (so the night stays easy): outside coolers and outside food/beverages aren’t allowed, but food and drinks are available for purchase on-site.

When: Friday, April 3, 2026 — Film at 7:00 PM (gates open 5:30 PM)
Where: Maui Arts & Cultural Center, Outdoor Lawn Setup, 1 Cameron Way, Kahului, HI 96732
Tickets: Free

Color Festival Hawaiʻi “Easter Edition” (Apr 5, 2026)

If you want one event in April that feels like pure joy, this is it. Color Festival Hawaiʻi lands on Easter Sunday this year, turning the MACC’s outdoor event lawn into a bright, music-filled celebration. The festival runs all afternoon with live music, ono food trucks, and a signature “group color throw” later in the day, plus an Easter Bunny appearance for the keiki.

A little local tip: wear something you don’t mind getting colorful (white is fun if you want the full effect), and consider bringing sunglasses if you’re sensitive to airborne powder. The event page also spells out important rules—no beach chairs inside the venue, strollers are allowed (but must be stored away from the audience area), and color packets will be available for sale on-site. The MACC will also be collecting Maui Food Bank donations at the main gates.

When: Sunday, April 5, 2026 — Gates open / music starts at Noon; group color throw at 5:30PM
Where: Maui Arts & Cultural Center, Outdoor Lawn Setup, 1 Cameron Way, Kahului, HI 96732

30th Annual East Maui Taro Festival (Apr 18, 2026)

If you’ve never driven the Road to Hana specifically for the East Maui Taro Festival, this is your sign. The festival is celebrating its 30th year and it’s one of the most grounded, community-centered cultural gatherings on the island. Rooted in the land, ʻike kupuna, and the deep cultural importance of kalo (taro). It takes place at Hāna Ball Park, rain or shine, and it’s the kind of event that reminds you how powerful local tradition can be when it’s lived, not just talked about. Plan a full day in Hāna and keep your schedule flexible; this is a beautiful reason to experience East Maui beyond the roadside stops.

Margaret Cho: Choligarchy (Apr 26, 2026)

Courtesy: Maui Arts & Cultural Center

Her new tour show will undoubtedly be sharp and brutally honest, that will contain mature subject matter—so plan this one as adults’ night out. The best part of comedy at the Castle Theater is how “easy” it feels: solid sightlines, a comfortable venue, and the option to grab food and beverages before the show.
