June 2018 Maui Condo Sales Price Jump Dramatically

Maui Condo Sales Prices on the Rise in June

Via the latest June 2018 stats released by the Realtors Association of Maui (RAM), the median price for a Maui condo increased by double digit figures to 20% compared to the same time last year. Meanwhile, on the residential front, single family home sales figures did not impress and actually declined.

  • June median condo sales price: $515,000, a 19.8% increase from $430k in June 2017
  • Number of condos sold in June: 150 condos sold, a 21% increased from 124 in June 2017

The Maui condo market as a whole is doing very well and is reflected in the year to date stats compared to the same time last year. Condo sales shot up 22% to 870 units sold in the 1st half of 2018 vs the 713 condos sold in the same 2017 time frame. The 2018 median sales price through the 1st 6 months of the year also rose slightly by 4.2% of $475k in 2017 and now $495,000 in 2018.

  • June median home sales price: $727,500, a 1.7% decline from $740k in June 2017
  • Number of homes sold in June: 85, a 30% decline from 120 in June 2017

Although June was not kind to residential sales, the overall market did well increased by 5.1% in terms of the number of transactions closed, 575 homes sold in 2018 so far and 547 in the same time last year. Although transactions increased, median sales price decreased by 2.2% from $705k in 2017 and $690,000 in 2018.
