The Green w/Special Guest Allen Stone + Seven Suns

Easily one of our favorite touring artists hailing from Hawaii and returning to the MACC is The Green, the continuously popular and successful reggae band formed in 2009 in Oahu. With almost a decade and a half in the music industry, The Green deserve to be recognized as one of the most successful and adored bands to come out of Hawaii.

In fact, they are among the very first reggae bands from the Hawaiian islands to extensively tour the US mainland, supporting American reggae bands including Rebelution, Iration, SOJA, and even Jamaica’s Damian Marley.

Grammy winning pop superstar Bruno Mars even selected The Green to open his three sold out shows at Honolulu’s Blaisdell Arena in 2014 and his two sold out dates at Honolulu’s Aloha Stadium, our state’s largest outdoor venue, in 2018. Check the video above and feel the unique energy of a fully sold out show for The Green. We highly encourage buying tickets sooner rather than later, as this show will most likely sell out; hope to see you there!

Color Festival Hawaii

The Color Festival Hawaiʻi is a modern American version of a traditional Indian Holi Festival, a thousand-year-old ritual of throwing and applying of colored powders on friends and family, which gives the holiday its common name, “Festival of Colors.” Clouds of colors dancing in the wind carry the message of love and happiness across to all who participate.

The Color Festival Hawaiʻi is a FUNraiser and a FRIENDraiser; like IMUA – it celebrates the path forward together. Treat yourself to energetic music, amazing foods, and explosions of color as we come together to celebrate the uniqueness of each and every child and person. The throwing of colors will be accompanied by DJ Sweet Beats and live music from Silky Sister, Rabbit, Little Monarch, Shea Derrick & Full Flavor Band, Sierra, and the Gretchen Rhodes Band. Maui’s best food trucks will also be on site to provide ono grindz and sweet treats. Color packets will be available for sale inside the event.

When: Sunday, Apr 28 2024, 12:00-6:00pm. 11:30 am – Gates open / Music starts at 12pm. 5:30pm – Group Color Throw. Where: Events Lawn, Maui Arts and Cultural Center, 1 Cameron Way, Kahului 96732.

As this month’s festivities draw to a close, we reflect on the incredible experiences that Maui has offered. From the laughter-filled nights with a renowned comedian and the mesmerizing performances of The Green to the spirited strides of marathon runners and the electric hues of the Holi festival, each event has added a unique flavor to our island life.
