The Paia Fish Market is a North Shore institution! It serves all: everyone from the kite boarders and surfer dudes to grandpa and grandma from back east. All of their menu items are undeniably amazing and fresh. This funky Paia favorite offers the best fresh fish for the best prices on the Northen side of the island. They’re located at Baldwin Avenue and Hana Highway, don’t miss them, they’re the bright blue joint on the corner.
All sorts of patrons favor the establishment as a fair amount of their business is takeout orders. They also provide some of the freshest raw fish available if you’re looking to acquire some quality seafood to cook yourself.
However, I prefer to dine in for the affordable and casual atmosphere. Even though it is communal tables, it is the aloha state after all, so scoot over and make some friends! For the non fish foodies, the place does offer a pretty ridiculous 100% Maui beef burger, various pastas, and a few salads.
Now for those who enjoy great fish dishes you are in for a treat. For a decent sized restaurant their offerings of fresh fish is incredibly impressive. They have three cooking styles to choose from: Cajun style, charbroiled, or sautéed. For those who are fish taco fanatics, they boast arguably Maui’s best. They also can put in quesadillas, fry it up as fish-and-chips, or serve it chilled and refreshing sashimi.
After a bite to eat, the Fish Market is close to some great local shops. For the artsy folk, there is a great gallery in By the Bay that is just a few doors down. For the trend setter and adventurous shopper, Alice in Wonderland is more than sufficient.
