4 Maui Beaches Voted Top 25 in USA! Which One Was Selected Best Overall?

The Travelers’ Choice Awards are a testament to the highest level of excellence in the travel industry, recognizing destinations that receive a high volume of exceptional reviews and opinions from the TripAdvisor community. Among 8 million listings, less than 1% achieve this prestigious milestone. This year, 4 Maui beaches ranked in the top 25 in the country, including the coveted number one spot…

Ka’anapali Beach is Arguably Best in the Country!

Out of the 4 Maui beaches to make the cut, topping the list is Ka’anapali Beach! The main stretch of shoreline in the Ka’anapali Resort is a haven of golden sands, gentle waves, and crystal-clear waters. It’s the perfect spot for a day of relaxation or aquatic adventures. Whether you’re swimming, snorkeling, or simply basking in the sun, Ka’anapali Beach offers a quintessential Maui experience. There’s also famous Black Rock at the northern tip of the beach, where locals and visitors alike partake in some exhilarating cliff jumps!

Don’t miss the shopping at Whaler’s Village for unique souvenirs. There’s also a plethora of beachfront dining options, with some of our favorites being Monkeypod Kitchen, Hula Grill, and Leilani’s on the Beach. For a serene start to your day, arrive early in the morning; and with all the nearby amenities, you can stay all the way till dusk to witness a breathtaking sunset.

Napili Bay and Beach

Ranked at number 14, Napili Bay is the epitome of picturesque beauty with its expansive sandy shores and turquoise sea. The bay’s rocky terrain makes it an ideal spot for snorkeling, while the gentle waves are perfect for body surfing and boogie boarding.

With ample amenities like showers, restrooms, and free parking, Napili Beach ensures a comfortable and enjoyable visit. It’s a tranquil retreat for those seeking a peaceful day by the sea. Each side of the beach is book-ended by a couple tasty dining options as well! There’s also a fabulous brunch spot called The Gazebo at the Napili Shores on the south side, and on the opposite end of the beach is the Sea House at the Napili Kai, a favorite for happy hour pupus and cocktails.

Ho’okipa Beach Park

Just past the North Shore communites of Spreckelsville, Paia, and Kuau is our next spot on the list. Coming in at number 16, Ho’okipa Beach Park is a dramatic landscape of crashing waves and striking rock formations. Renowned as a surfing, kiteboarding, wing-foiling and windsurfing hotspot, it’s also a great place for non-surfers to explore. Keep an eye out for sea turtles on the eastern shore or discover the tide pools on the western side.

The observation area when you first pull into the beach park offers stunning ocean vistas. On weekends, you can also often find local vendors to grab a bite or a souvenir from. One of our favorite spots to dine al fresco on Maui, we highly recommend ending your day with the spectacular sunset that Ho’okipa is famous for.

Wai’anapanapa State Park

At number 23, Wai’anapanapa State Park stands out with its unique black sand beaches, breathtaking coastal views, and verdant East Maui surroundings. This park is not just about the beach; it’s a historical site with an ancient graveyard and offers a plethora of outdoor activities.

From swimming and snorkeling, experiencing the ocean’s power at the famous blowhole, to hiking and exploring freshwater caves, there’s something for everyone. Pack a picnic or plan a camping trip to fully immerse yourself in the natural beauty of Wai’anapanapa. Please be advised that the State has implemented a reservation system for all those wishing to visit.
