One of my favorite events is quickly approaching, on Saturday, November 8th from 2pm-5pm will be the 6th annual Life is Sweet 2014. Come out and support a fellow Seabury Hall alum at the Skyline Eco-Adventures Haleakala course. The 4th annual ziplining fundraiser is scheduled for Sunday, November 9 from 8:30 am-4:00 pm. A cut price of $30.00 zipline tours will be offered and help them replant native Hawaiian plants. Food for purchase is available, as well as prize-giveaways, entertaining music, and much more! The 3rd Annual Christ the King Church Bazaar will be held on November 16, 2013 from 09:00am to 03:00pm. This year they will have Arts and Crafts, Silent Auction, Rumage Sale, Country Store, lots of fun games for our Keiki, and the following food booths.

Arts & Cultural

I strongly encourage many to attend the Ka Leo Nahenahe, a Hawaiian music concert benefiting the Hawaiian Language Immersion first grade students of Paia Elementary. The establishment and prosperity of immersion schools is something very important as kids in immersion programs statistically excel just as much if not better than kids in traditional schooling systems. The fundraiser will take place on Sunday, November 9th at the Bailey House Museum in Wailuku. Entry is at 4 p.m. with main Hawaiian entertainment from 5 to 8 p.m. Tickets are $20 each and this is a 21 and over only event. Phone: (808) 359-1172. Email: papakaiapuni2026@gmail.com

“The Legend of Ko’olau,” a historical drama about the life of Kaluaiko‘olau, a true Hawaiian cowboy and ‘outlaw.’ In this one-man play, a tale about a Hawaiian family on Kaua‘i fighting for their rights meanwhile living through the chaos and loss of Hawaiian sovereignty in 1893. Featuring a new lead actor: Moronai Kanekoa, who grew up on Maui and currently works in Los Angeles as a theater and film actor. Date: Sunday, November 23rd, 2014. Time: 3:00 pm. Call or visit the MACC for ticket info.

Sports

Shane Victorino Foundation Celebrity Dinner & Golf Classic is always a fun golf fundraiser to attend and will be held on November 22. Lunch and beverages will be provided throughout the day and each golfer will receive a gift bag filled with fabulous items. The invitational is held with prestige by many and is coveted by all teams for its tropical location.
