South Maui’s Newest Addition: Nu’u Aina

This past Friday I had the pleasure of attending the groundbreaking ceremony for Nu’u Aina. After the blessing, I enjoyed lunch with Lief Smith (Maui Nui Director of Golf), Chad Goodfellow (President of Goodfellow Bros), and Peter Savio (President and Chief Executive Officer of the Savio Group of Companies). It was great meeting Peter in person to discuss his recent acquisition of the Maui Nui Golf Course. His passion for both real estate and native Hawaiian trees are 2 things we both have in common.   Peter plans to plant 100s of native Hawaiian trees around Maui Nui which will be great for the golf course as well as the preservation of native plants endemic to Hawaii.

Nu’u Aina will be the newest development to join the ranks of other luxury Kihei condominiums in the greater Maui Tech Park community. The developers are expected to begin construction within the next couple of weeks with the earliest homes available sometime in 2015.

In terms of size, Nu’u Aina will be pretty similar to several of the models we feature at the Hokulani Golf Villas.  As far as the quality of construction, Nu’u Aina will have a tough time surpassing Hokulani. Both communities are located off the mauka side of Pi’ilani Highway just below the Maui Tech Park on Lipoa Parkway.

Nu’u Aina will be an assortment of one and two-story single family homes along with two-story townhome villas. They are comprised of carefully handpicked finishes and attractive architecture with the option for various customizable upgrades.

The Models

There will be six different unique floor plans featured at Nu’u Aina. There are four single family home models with total square footage ranging from 2980-3830.  The fifth model is a town home style that will house two different floor plans from 2704  to 2781 of total square footage. Certain models offer a choice of condensing two rooms into another master suite. All homes will have at least two bedrooms and two full baths.

The interior of the homes will aim to seamlessly integrate indoor and outdoor living to celebrate the perfect year round weather. The designers were looking to provide buyers with a wide range of choices, they believe in all today’s conveniences while maintaining an eye on the future. Focused on the highest quality and lowest maintenance materials, the developers are trying to make cleaning a breeze. They have everything from porcelain and natural stone to a full green upgrade option. Some other options include:

There are also some fantastic upgrades available. I highly recommend going after the residences that will allow plunge pools because the heat can be pain in the summer. If you prefer to have a gas stove, you can upgrade to propane if you wish. They will also accommodate all the wine drinkers out there with a Viking 15″ under counter wine cooler upon request.

Nu‘u Aina will offer an upsacle world class pool and hot tub complex, finished with only the best of outdoor kitchen equipment. Large and lush open green areas will be decorated with blooming coconut palms and rich tropical landscaping.  Merging the community with the golf course fairways will be made a high priority.

Since the community is perched on the lower rolling slopes of Mount Haleakala, residents will be treated to picturesque views of the mountain. Mornings are abosutely delightful in Kihei, enjoy yet anothe paradise as the sun warms up and the gentle breeze keeps you cool. From your private lanai, enjoy your morning cup of coffee as you overlook the dramatic views of the deep blue pacific with its pristine shorelines and delecatble white sand beaches. In the winter, you can be treated to daily gifts from mother nature as the breaching humpback whales make their winter home off the shores of South Maui.
