Remodeled Wailuku Estate: 1662 Kalama Street
Guarded by a sprawling interior and accessed through a bright red door, welcome to this Wailuku Oasis! Brought to market in early March of this year, 1662 Kalama Street is an excellent 1950’s Wailuku home that has been upgraded throughout its lifetime. Sitting on more than 1/4 acre, the property is designed with privacy in mind feels like a secluded estate. Not only does this home offer a single family home, there is also an attached cottage for family or rental income.
Upgraded not too long ago, this 50’s style plantation home is conducive to single level living with the look and feel of the wood floors and luxurious, old fashioned bathroom. The home offers the perfect blend of indoor/outdoor living with a large courtyard just off of the main living areas. In addition, our buyers get to enjoy the expansive decking with a gorgeous pool and jacuzzi that sits below the Beautifully designed Ohana by Hunton Conrad.
The unit first came to market in the mid $1.1 million range and underwent a few price reductions before it was able to garner some real interest. After some negotiations, we were happy to secure a final sale price of $910,000, more than $200k off asking.

Buyers are able to pick up some new development homes in the $300k and $400k range, but those are obviously competitive to get into.
