Experiencing the Montage Residences Kapalua Bay

A huge philosophy of mine has always been in order to sell the style, you need to live the lifestyle, that way you can demonstrate value to clients from first hand experience. This past weekend, myself and a plus one were invited to the Montage Residences Kapalua Bay by Power Play, the exclusive listing agents of Montage who oversee sales & marketing of the remaining developer residences. They really pulled out all of the stops and were given free tickets to the Kapalua Wine Festival!

The drive out to Kapalua was one of the most beautiful days I have seen this year heading out to the West Side. It was super clear over the West Maui Mountains with no wind, zero clouds above, and just the kind of perfect day you expect to have when you live on Maui! 

Once we made it out to Kapalua, we were personally greeted by Mark Myhedyn, the new sales director, who invited us to the invitation only event for some of Hawaii’s top realtors on Maui. At the event, they were serving some excellent Hawaiian pupus along with some equally impressive champagne.  The catering was done by Soup to Nuts, a local catering company with over 10 years of experience on Maui alone and additional years of catering experience in the Boston area. 

 

The main goal of the event was to showoff the villas to the top producing realtors on Maui so they can then share their own experiences of the Kapalua lifestyle with their clients. When you’re able to touch and feel the product you’re selling, it gives you an advantage in selling the lifestyle. We spent some time checking out the villas they had for sale and I was impressed with how much luxury can be added by the right finishes. The villas were decorated by a good friend Ken Bassman of Bassman and Lane interior designs. Montage has been seeing a lot of success lately, largely due to the amount of volume they are moving and the steep prices that the villas sell at. 

Kapalua Wine Festival

After the event, we were given free VIP passes for us to go over to the Kapalua Wine Festival which was really a nice bonus for us! We didn’t have to stand it any lines and it was a nice gesture for all of us who came out and toured their villas. 

The Montage was the perfect setting for this year’s Kapalua Wine Festival, which included winemakers from around the world: Napa Valley, Sonoma, Italy, Spain, Australia, and New Zealand. Accompanied with these really great wines were some of the latest creations from some of Maui’s favorite celebrity chefs. Peter Merriman of Merriman’s who just so happens to have restaurant in Kapalua cranked out some fantastic locally inspired pupus. 

And it’s always great to see friends at these events, it was really nice to see Joe and Bev Gannon of Hali’imaile General Store and Gannon’s in Wailea. I also got to hang out with my good buddy and top producing realtor Fred Haywood who I drove over with.
