Kula Country Farms Pumpkin Patch

Autumn on Maui is a different kind of special. The weather stays warm, the skies stay blue, and swaying palm trees replace falling leaves. Every October, Maui locals and visitors alike find a way to celebrate the fall season and the best place to do that is Upcountry at the Kula Country Farms Pumpkin Patch.

Why Visit the Kula Country Farms Pumpkin Patch?

The Kula Country Farms Pumpkin Patch has become a beloved tradition for families, couples, and travelers looking to embrace the spirit of fall. Located high on the slopes of Haleakalā, the farm offers panoramic views of the island, where orange pumpkins and golden sunflowers pop against the deep blue skies. The setting is as photogenic as it is festive, making it a must do activity in October.

Guests can wander through fields brimming with hundreds of pumpkins, gourds, and fall decorations. Whether you are after a tiny pumpkin for your desk, a giant one for your front porch, or something unusual like a green, pink, or bumpy pumpkin, the farm delivers.

A Family Friendly Maui Fall Tradition

Our family loves the pumpkin patch. Beyond just picking pumpkins, it is about creating memories. Watching our kids stroll through the children’s garden, admire rows of bright sunflowers, and spend time with friendly farm animals is so joyous. While feeding is not permitted, petting is allowed, and the smiles are endless. Parents, have your cameras ready, because photo worthy moments appear around every corner.

Wagons are available to haul your pumpkin bounty, but they run out quickly, so if you have your own cart it is smart to bring it. For my family, the annual trip to Kula Country Farms is a highlight of the season. After busting out and setting our festive decorations, Gavin and Sienna usually ask “when are going pumpkin picking?!”

What You Will Find Beyond Pumpkins?

The pumpkin patch is not just about the pumpkins. The Kula Country Farms store is stocked with locally grown produce, farm fresh strawberries, decorative gourds, squashes, and fall flowers. Shelves are lined with jams, honeys, and juices made right on the farm, along with baked goods, breads, and holiday gifts. There is even a candy booth for the little ones.

On weekends, food vendors join the lineup, offering hot meals and tasty treats. Picnic tables and shaded tents provide space to sit down and enjoy the atmosphere. It is a festive environment that blends the charm of a working farm with the excitement of a community event.
