Both my 2 brothers and I went to Seabury Hall from grades 6-12 and had wonderful experiences. Seabury is rated an A+ for academics and is a nationally recognized college preparatory school. The tuition cost is around $23K per year. Seabury offers a challenging and comprehensive academic program, including honors and AP (advanced placement) courses, that prepare students for success in college and beyond. Seabury Hall has a close-knit community that is built on mutual respect, support, and encouragement. Students, faculty, staff, and families work together to create a welcoming and inclusive environment where everyone can thrive.
Maui Preparatory Academy
Maui Preparatory Academy, located in Lahaina, is a private college preparatory school that offers education from pre-K through 12th grade. With one the lowest student-to-teacher ratios on Maui, students receive personalized attention that helps them with the challenging curriculum and prepares them for higher education. The school also has a strong athletics program, with state championship titles in basketball, cross country, and volleyball. St. Anthony School
Coming in ranked third on the list is St. Anthony School. This smaller, catholic school is located in Wailuku and known for its close-knit community and welcoming atmosphere. Doris Todd Christian Academy
Doris Todd Christian Academy is a private Christian school located on the North Shore of Maui, in the town of Paia. Kihei Charter
The #1 ranked 2023 best public school (for both high school and elementary school) in Maui County, is Kihei Charter. Since this is the only charter school on Maui, it is open to all school districts. Because of its reputation and popularity, which leads to more applicants than spots available for this school, they actually have to hold a lottery every March! The school focuses on project-based learning and emphasizes the development of critical thinking and problem-solving skills. With a low student-to-teacher ratio, students receive individualized attention and support to help them succeed academically. The school also has a strong community involvement program, with opportunities for students to engage in service projects and community events.
King Kekaulike High School
Known to locals as King K, this public high school located in the Upcountry area came in as the #2 ranked public high school with an overall Niche grade of B+. With classes from 9th grade through 12th, this school has a diverse student body and a rigorous curriculum that prepares students for higher education. King Kekaulike High School also has a strong athletics program, with state championship titles in football, wrestling, and track and field.
