Secluded Retreat: Hana

The Road to Hana is an experience unique to Maui as the windy one lane road flashes you back to a simpler time. The speed limit is 25 mph the whole drive and winds along a two lane highway that is a 52 mile trek from Kahului to Hana.
Due to the traveling time and the narrow roads, Hana remains not easily accessible. In other words, Hana is one of the very few places on the island that remain untouched by the rapid development on Maui.
Summer Swells: Big Beach
Arguably Maui’s most famous and beloved beach, Makena Beach a.k.a. Big Beach, is incredibly special in the summer months. Due to Hawaii’s surfing seasons, the summer weather makes for the perfect big wave conditions. During large swells, it isn’t atypical for waves to reach 6-8 feet. Seeing these waves in person is an incredibly special treat.
