According to the latest reader survey compiled by Travel + Leisure, two Maui hotels landed in the Top 100 in the world!
Hotel Wailea in Wailea placed as #75, and the Montage Kapalua Bay in Kapalua came in ranked as #63. Hotels rankings were scored across a matrix that included room accommodations, overall facilities, location, service, food and value for price.
While Hotel Wailea doesn’t come with the same international backing or prestigious as the Four Seasons or the Andaz, it does however reign supreme over the former. Sitting atop its perch high above the Wailea coast line, this little boutique hotel can proudly called itself the best hotel in Hawaii.
The 72 room Hotel Wailea is owned and operated by Jonathan McManus, an Oahu boy who took the reigns and led a top to bottom remodel in 2015. McManus believes the success of the property is due to the its style of service, which constantly aims to be up to date on the latest luxury hotel trends.
If you have ever been, it’s the hotel’s location on the hillside that makes it unique and offers a nice contrast to the beachfront hotels. The hotel is definitely geared towards the adult demographic as it is strictly an adult only hotel.
