The Neighborhood Around 240 Kawaipuna

I grew up in Wailuku as a kid and remember the days when it was still a sleepy old town; now, it’s going through an urbanization while still staying true to its roots. To get a better feel for the property, I took a stroll around the neighborhood and the area off of Lower Main Street. has changed a lot from when I was a kid.

A cute, little, and new doughnut shop has recently popped up; with a name like Donut Dynamite, I am sure buyers will check it out as it is on the corner of Kawaipuna and Lower Main. The owner is legally named Madame Donut and she make specialty flavors like Lilikoi meringue, strawberry rose, and home made Oreo. They often sell out before 10:30.

Also, on Kawaipuna is the Monkey Pod Studio. A place for kids and parents to play and learn together, they see themselves as a “sweet and inviting process-based children’s art studio led by experts in childhood development, education, care and counseling.”
