Family Fun

The Made in Maui County Festival is an awesome event that was created to stimulate the Maui economy by boosting local sales and awareness of locally made products. Developed as an initiative of the County of Maui Mayor’s Office of Economic Development and the Maui Chamber of Commerce, the festival aims to display the hard work and creativity of the Maui community. The festival is a great service and cause for the community because of the 140+ product vendors that are able to showcase their pride and joy. At the festival, there is a wide selection of vendors on display with goods ranging from foods to produce, arts & crafts, clothing, furniture and much more more. When: Friday & Saturday, November 3rd and 4th; times will vary depending on the day. Where: Maui Arts & Cultural Center. 

An enjoyable experience for Maui’s keiki, this family fun day is certainly more for the young ones. Holoholo Kaʻa is a chance for Maui’s future generation to get hands on experience with emergency vehicles, heavy machinery, various construction rigs, farm equipment, cool cars and so much more! The kids will get the opportunity to climb aboard, pretend to drive, and take photos with some of their favorite real life vehicles. It is also an educational event as the local businesses, public utilities, County and State departments who operate these vehicles while share their knowledge and operating skills. When: Sunday, November 5th from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. Where: UH Maui College.

The Upcountry Holiday Craft Bazaar is a great way to entertain the whole family and an even better head start on early Christmas shopping! The family friendly event is geared towards a craft bazaar style event, so there will be plenty of vendors and uniquely Maui items to get your hands on. The event is held in Pukalani, so it should be relatively cool all day during the event. Some of crafts that you’ll be guaranteed to find are: Homemade goodies, stationary and artwork, handmade jewelry, hand made blankets, some up and coming clothing companies and definitely local snacks and foods, and so much more! When: Saturday, November 4th from 9:00am to 2:00pm. Where: Pukalani Community Church of Nazarene.

Adult’s Night Out

Support the 15 million Americans battling cancer by attending the Pacific Cancer Foundation’s Aloha Kalikimaka Benefit Gala at the lovely and historic Yokouchi Estate.  While going to a great cause, attendees are treated to a joyful evening of live entertainment, festive holiday adornments, decadent food, great wine, smooth cocktails, and generous auction items perfect for holiday gifts. The event is a local favorite among the community and is a strong show of unity in support of an important cause. Visit www.pacificcancerfoundation.org for more information. When: Saturday, November 18th from 5:00pm-10:00pm. Where: Yokouchi Estate in Wailuku. 

Maui Brewing Company is proud to host Pint Night for the Birds where half of the pub profits from house beers sold will go towards protecting native birds on Maui. It is a great way to sample and enjoy local beers while going towards a good cause and helping Hawaii’s endangered bird population. Since September 2009, the Maui Brewing Company has been hosting benefit nights for the Maui Forest Bird Recovery Project and have continued to demonstrate a strong commitment to the local economy and the environment. When: Friday, November 24th, 6:00pm-10:00pm. Where: Maui Brewing Company Brewpub, the Kahana, West Maui location.

Not a night out, but a more adult/teen activity, AquariOM Yoga at the Maui Ocean Center is a one of a kind Maui experience that isn’t found anywhere else in the state! Practicing yoga at the Maui Ocean Center among the open ocean exhibit featuring hundreds of colorful fish, sharks, and rays is a truly remarkable Maui experience. The class is great because it increases strength and concentration while decreasing stress and illness. Take your level of peace to a completely new level by being one with nature. The Arts & Culture

Every year, the Lahaina Restoration Foundation is honored to host the annual Sun Yat-sen Festival. The event aims to celebrate Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s wonderful life and achievements because of all of his contributions to the development of modern China. It is an ideal festival for an educational family day where everyone can explore the Chinese culture through film tributes, historical displays recreating the life of Sun Yat-sen, printmaking, cultural activities, traditional Chinese music, and sampling Cantonese food and Chinese teas. When: Friday & Saturday November 10th & 11th, from 10:00am to 8:00pm. Where: Front Street Lahaina at the Wo Hung Museum. 

Hula Ki‘i: Performance & Discussion provides unprecedented access and insights to a particular type of hula form, Hula Ki‘i—dance as an image. The dancers will showcase their performance in various ways, they may form the Ki‘i (Hawaiian word for image) with their own bodies or they dance may dance with or manipulate puppets made of natural materials. Either way, it will be a chance to explore and gain a deeper understanding of Hawaii’s cultural roots. When: Saturday, November 4, 2017 starting at 5:00pm. Where: Maui Arts & Cultural Center.
