Kua’aina Mauka: Geared Toward Local Homeowners
I have some really exciting news to share regarding a new development on the cusp of Makawao and Pukalani. If you’ve been monitoring the Upcountry market lately, you’re well aware that there is a shortage of affordable homes. There’s not nearly the amount of available inventory compared to higher density area such as Kihei or Wailuku. The demand is simply far greater than the overall supply.

Kua’aina Mauka is a 32 home residential condominium community, comprised of 16 single-family homes and 16 ohanas just off of Makani Road and Haleakala Hwy. This new community is going to help alleviate the shortage of affordable housing Upcountry.

The ohanas will be approximately 600 interior square feet, and prices will start at about $350K. The single-family homes will be 3bedroom/2.5bath, and will consist of about 1600 interior square feet, along with a 2 car, 500 square foot garage. Prices for the single family home will start in the mid $500Ks.

The 32 residences in the neighborhood will all share a lot and driveway since this is a residential condominium community. There will also be a home owner’s association as well as CC&Rs for Kua’aina Mauka.
Since the project is still relatively early on, the developers are currently taking non-binding reservations.
