Incase you’re wondering, I’m not referring to Disney Land! You’ll often hear that Maui No Kai (which means Maui is the best!), and I couldn’t agree more. For those of us born and raised here on island, we are truly blessed and forever grateful to call Maui home.

It’s no surprise that Hawaii recently reclaimed the top spot in the U.S. Well-Being index. According to a recent study from Gallup Healthways, the Aloha State is home to the happiest people in America!

The index was created upon 5 critical elements of happiness: your sense of  community, your sense of purpose, your social relationships, your financial well being, and your physical health. Click here to read the complete article.

The Asian country of Bhutan measures their GDP in gross happiness units. Even though I’m a big fan of capitalism, I’ve always found this approach fascinating and holistic. The objective is to achieve balanced community development with non material values with the conviction humans want to ultimately search for happiness. I don’t know if it could ever work in Hawaii, but it’s a cool thought nevertheless!
