Family Fun

This month’s events are incredibly family oriented as it is just about summer time and plenty of us have no idea what to do with our kids over the summer! Hopefully my suggestions can either help you keep them occupied or help you plan a fun night on the town!

Although parents are excluded , the Ninja Summer Camp 2015 is a great two week activity for kids of all ages to enjoy.  Registration is ongoing now for kids grades 1- 12. Students will be learning activities such as Martial Arts, Archery, Ninjutsu Survival Training, extend activities to swimming, volley, hiking, physical fitness, 1 week of overnight camp, and much more. The fabulous Wailea Film Festival 2015 includes film screenings, award tributes, filmmaker panels, The Taste of Wailea where Wailea’s top chefs create dishes inspired by the islands agricultural bounty; Taste of Chocolate (a chocoholic’s fantasy), and other gala parties and festivities throughout the resort. The Celestial Cinema, the festival’s crown jewel of a venue, on Wailea Gold Golf courses’ driving range, at the foot of Mount Haleakala, highlights the festival. Visit: http://www.mauifilmfestival.com/ for more info.

The 24th Annual Kī Ho’alu Festival will be held in Sunday, June 28, 1-7 pm at the A & B Amphitheater, admission is FREE! The festival will showcase some of Hawai‘i’s great slack key guitar musicians, presented in a laid-back, local-style outdoor festival. Bring your own beach chair, blanket or lauhala mat to stretch out to enjoy a peaceful afternoon of music. The lineup (announced in May) always includes many of popular musicians and recording artists.

The Maui Jim OceanFest presented by Maui Jim Sunglasses will held over the Saturday and Sunday of June 6 and 7. The competition is comprised of 10 individual Sprint Races in multi-disciplined events. The races will take place around an established course of bouys just off shore from Ka’anapali Beach fronting the Ka’anapali Beach Hotel. The event will crown an Overall Waterman and Waterwomen in all divisions. It’s the culture, principles and values at the core of who we are, that get transferred to the things that we wear.” Last year’s “MAMo on Maui” event was a raging success -don’t miss the spectacular show this year! Tickets: $35, $45, $65. Saturday, June 20, 7:30 pm, Yokouchi Pavilion.
