I recently stumbled across the Maui Yoga Tours Instagram account, they’re a new and exciting company on Maui looking to capitalize on the growing trend of practicing yoga in serene and majestic locations. I found their use of Instagram and innovate marketing techniques because they are employing similar techniques to spread their expanding brand.

In the age of technology and entrepreneurship, anybody with a great idea, little bit of luck, sufficient talent, and a whole lot of drive can defy the odds and run a successful start up. Owners, Seeta Krumpe and Ashley McGuire who originally met in nursing school, decided to forgo the college route and purse their desire to share the beauty of Maui. The pair have since forged a bond based on their love for adventure, exploration of the ʻaina (land), mutual passion and curiosity for discovering life.

Their business is based on simple yet, adventurous and unique idea. They take small groups of six people or less on yoga and hiking excursions to secluded destinations in nature on Maui, where they enjoy a full yoga class, an organic lunch or snack, information about Hawaiian culture, wildlife, ecosystem, and other fun activities. They like to communicate with their guests about how to respect our ‘aina and leave no trace by eating foods that use minimal packaging and cleaning up any trash that they have or that may already be present.

They created Maui Yoga Tours to share the therapeutic and spiritual benefits of what they do for fun on their days off with visitors and Kama’aina (locals) alike who may normally not get to see the island the way they get to see it. They believe in sustainable, eco-friendly, tours that educate visitors about our island and encourage guests to reconnect with their inner selves through unity with nature.

They offer sixteen different locations and a variety of tours all featuring breathtaking mountain, ocean or waterfall views. Their tour options include: Iao Valley, the Front or Back Road to Hana, Haleakala Crater, Lahaina and West Maui, Waihe’e Ridge, Poli Poli State Park, Olinda Forest, Bamboo Forest, The King’s Trail at La Perouse Bay and Nailiili Haele Stream. Exlusive or private group excursions include: Turtle Bay, Makaiwa Rope Hike, and a Short Waterfall Hike.

Available tour dates depend on whether you would like a full or a half day tour. They do offer a shuttle service and hotel pick up as well. Tour packages include a stunning nature walk or hike to a secluded location where guests enjoy a full one hour yoga class in nature. Then hike to a destination such as a waterfall, mountain top, beach or tide pool where guests will be treated to a local, organic, and vegetarian picnic lunch (full day tours) or snack (half day tours), swimming and other activities.

Full day tours are $150/person and half day tours are $100/person. They can suggest the best tour for you based on your yoga/hiking ability, your location, and the sights you wish to see most on beautiful Maui.
