Whether you’re visiting Maui from Europe or live here and have European family, Christmas time brings a longing for traditional foods and sweets from back home. We’ve found a place locally here on Maui where you can buy German spice cookies and Stollen, English fruit pudding and many other seasonal treats from Europe.

If you are staying at a vacation rental condo in Lahaina then it’s just a few minutes drive to Foodland Farms at the new Lahaina Gateway mall – if you’re somewhere else on the island it’s still worth the drive for such great imported treats!
When you enter Foodland Farms, head left to the Fine Foods area which is operated by the R. Field Wine Company. Many thanks to Wiebke, the manager and German expatriate who chose to bring in such a great variety of European Christmas goodies.

German Christmas treats
- Several varieties of Christmas Stollen (including Rum Stollen and Marzipan Stollen) by Bahlsen and other brands
- Lebkuchen (German soft gingerbread cookies) including Bahlsen brand Contessa and Grandessa
- Pfeffernuesse (sugar glazed gingerbread cookies)
English Christmas treats
- Walker’s Fruit Pudding (also known as Plum Pudding) – they have the small individual size and the larger size as well!
- Glenfiddich infused Rich Fruit Pudding (also made by Walker’s) – this is the real thing with 12-year aged single malt Scotch Whisky
- Many varieties of English fudge
Other great European sweets and chocolates
- Reber Mozart Kugel – a favorite treat that’s hand-made in Salzburg, Austria: Pistachio marzipan out of fresh, green pistachios, almonds and hazelnut praline, covered with milk chocolate. You can buy them individually they also sell the elegant gift-boxes.
- Many specialty chocolate liqueurs
Fresh baked Stollen on Maui
If you want freshly baked German Stollen head to Stillwells Bakery in Wailuku, Roy Stillwell bakes them fresh every year and they always sell out. It might be best to call 808-243-2243 and reserve one. Roy also makes a great Yule log cake!
