Somewhere between Haiku and Hana, our latest clients have found their dream estate! Nestled in the Hanawana Valley, this spectacular estate comes with your own waterfall and oceanfront access. The valley offers privacy and seclusion just 30 minutes from Paia and 45 minutes from Kahului airport. The property is teeming with flora and botanical treasures including: mango trees, coconuts, avocados, bananas and papayas.

There are two existing dwellings on the property. One is a two-story home and the other is ready for our client’s own personal touches. This property was bought for its beauty and untouched nature rather than for its dwellings.

The property was listed since the summer of last year and went through several price reductions. I the end, we were happy to help our clients close for 30% less than original asking at an even $1 million.

Haiku Market Update Early Q2 2019

With 29 homes sold through 4.5 months of 2019, the Haiku has seen great demand considering the Haiku is known for offering great value and large lot sizes. The home sold with the smallest lot size was just over 6000 sqft and lives a lot larger than the lot size suggests. Meanwhile, the largest lot size sold was just under 17 acres.

33% of all sales so far well below the $700,000 range, while only 10% of sales exceeded the $1.5 million threshold. The median sold price of a Haiku home is right around $800,000, a figure that has been slowly creeping up over the last few years.

Haiku Homes For Sale

Markets like Haiku will always be top heavy as the well priced units do not last long and the large estates in the $1.5+ million range will take a certain type of buyer looking for the Haiku lifestyle. More than half of the market is priced above $1.5 million with and average days on market of 137.
