Makalii at Wailea Breaks Ground as Wailea’s Newest Project

Exciting Makalii at Wailea Takes Off

For sometime now, the Wailea real estate community has been eagerly anticipating the build of wailea’s latest condo complex, Makalii at Wailea. Hawaii based Armstrong Builders and Canadian developers Burrard Development broke ground earlier this week on the 68 unit luxury townhome community. Located across from the Fairmont Kealani, it is in a prime location to make the most of he Wailea lifestyle.

Sales and marketing are led by the San Francisco based Polaris Pacific, which was recently able to mark the sale of the 50th unit. Managing partner of Polaris Pacific, was in a great mood after Tuesday the 12th’s groundbreaking, “It’s some of the best real estate on Maui, it’s really quite extraordinary.”

With only 18 units remaining, the units are priced in the $1.2 to $2.7 million range which represent great buys for new construction in the Wailea Resort. Actual construction of the units are slated for the first quarter of 2018.

Honolulu based architecture firm G70, formerly known as Group 70, was tasked with the design of the project and turned out a fantastic mid-century modern concept unique to Wailea. In total, there will be 17 buildings with two and three bedroom floor plans, each offering their own garage space.

Sales for Makalii at Wailea began in 2016 and sort stagnated in its first initial 9 months on the market. Polaris Pacific was brought on by the developers to turn sales around after the original sales and marketing team were not producing the desired results.

A big part of Makalii’s recent success has been some of the key initiatives the new sales team has undertaken. The first major change was a shift in the sales office location. When sales initially started, they were handle in an offsite location away from the actual project site. Since then, the sales office now resides on the 9.3 acre parcel on the Mauka side of Wailea Alanui drive, right across from the Fairmont Kea Lani.

Construction, which will be done in phases and will include a residents’ club with a cascading infinity pool, is expected to be complete in about 24 months.
