Bubble Run Maui 2017! Start your run in white t-shirts, then participants, run, walk, and dance there way across 5 Kilometers (3.1 miles) of absolute fun! Waves start every 3-5 minutes, then at each kilometer participants will run through the Bubble Bogs where there is enough colored foam to cover you from head to toe! When: Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 8:ooAM. Where: Keopuolani Park in Wailuku. More info at http://bubblerun.com/

Celebrate Maui’s 1st annual Bark For Life, sponsored by the American Cancer Society! Bark For Life recognizes the caregiving qualities of man’s best friend! Fundraise money to help the mission of ACS: fund life-saving research to find cancer’s causes and cures, and to provide resources to local cancer patients. There will be music, games and activities for humans and dogs, and lots of fun while raising money for a good cause! When: Saturday, February 18th, 2017, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Cost: $15 for 1 dog, $25 for 2 dogs, $10 for a human. Where: Keopuolani Dog Park.  More info at: www.relayforlife.org/barkmaui

Makawao Town’s 25th Annual Chinese New Year’s Lion Dance Celebration is a great way for the family to spend a Saturday morning! Experience Maui’s rich culture base as Makawao merchants invite all to come and join the celebration. Au’s Shaolin Arts will offer the Lion Dance with a Martial Arts Demonstration and plenty of fireworks to open the New Year! After the demonstration, the Lions will dance through the streets of Makawao. When: Saturday, February 4th at 10:00AM. Where: the corner of Baldwin and Makawao Avenue.

A Don’t Miss: Journey!

Journey is one of the most popular American rock bands of all time, creating some of the best-known songs in modern music. They have continued to tour and record into the 21st century, firing on all cylinders and making sure their fans will never stop believin’. Multiple generations continue to welcome Journey as they bring their signature rock sound to fans around the world. When: Tuesday, February 28, 2017; starts a7:00 pm/gates open at 5:00 pm. Where: A&B Amphitheater.

Mardi Gras Maui is once again at the Four Seasons Resort in Wailea. They are proud to announce a revamped experience thanks to last year’s feedback. Free Valet Parking, improved dinner menu less fried foods, more healthy with multiple vegetarian options, drinks starting at $6 and up to $10, live entertainment with Shea Derrick and Full Flavor Band and a live and silent auction throughout the night.

Super Bowl Sunday! Make your way on down to the MACC and leave the hassle behind! Patrons can watch the game indoors on the big screen in the Castle Theater or outside in the Pavilion on a high-tech LED screen. Why shop for snacks? Why cook? Why clean up? When you can enjoy and leave the clean up to the MACC crew. Hot and cold beverages will be available for purchase in the courtyard, including a full bar, food trucks, and live music from WILLIE K in the Pavilion before and after! All ages welcome. **No coolers, outside food/beverages, or tailgating please** When: Sunday, February 5, 2017; 1:30pm game/12:00pm gates open. Where: Castle Theater & Yokouchi Pavilion & Courtyard.

The Arts & Culture

The musicians of Keauhou demonstrate their passion and joy in the performance, preservation, and perpetuation of traditional Hawaiian music. The trio includes Kamehameha Schools graduates, Kahanuola Solatorio, and brothers, Nicholas and Zachary Lum. They strive to bring forth inspiration from Hawaiian music of the eras preceding them, and contribute to a renewed respect and interest for the incomparable beauty of traditional Hawaiian music. When: Sunday, February 26, 2017 at 5:00pm. Where: McCoy Studio Theater.

Children’s World Fair is a unique public event hosted by Roots School. It takes Maui’s keiki on a “World Tour,” by showcasing crafts, games, food, art, culture, fashion and performances representing countries around the globe. A Silent Auction will feature beautiful artwork by students, as well as hundreds of goods and services donated from generous businesses and individuals. When: Saturday, February 11th, 2017, from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Where: Makawao Union Church on Baldwin Avenue.
