Family Fun

The 6th Annual La’a Kea Family Fall Festival is a great way to spend a family day, everyone is welcome to attend! The Farm is located at  in upper Paia with festivities begining at Noon. MC this year is Manao’s own Kathy Collins with live music by Maui’s favorite Eric Gilliom. There will be an assortment of craft projects, games, face painting, hay rides, a silent auction, organic shave ice, and the annual pie contest. It is a Free event and fun for the whole Family! When: Sunday, November 6, 2016 Where: La’a Kea Farm at 639 Baldwin Avenue.

The 3rd annual Made In Maui County Festival is regarded as Maui’s largest product show! The festival features a diverse variety of Hawaii products, including foods, produce, art, crafts, jewelry, fashion items, gifts, and collectible. The day is full of shopping, along with product demonstrations, a fashion show, food trucks, prize drawings, and various entertainment. On show is demonstration of why Maui County is known as no ka oi (the best)! Tickets: $5 (payable at the door). Free for kids 12 and under. When: Saturday, November 5, 2016; from 8:00am–4:30pm. Where: A&B Amphitheater.

The 6th annual Zip 4 The Trees fundraising event aims to preserve and protect Maui’s fragile Eco-System by planting native Hawaiian trees and enjoying a fun day of zip-lining, music, food and fun. This year’s event will feature Paula Fuga as she returns for her 3rd year in a row. Zipline on Skyline Haleakala including the Indiana Jones style swinging bridge and 3 of Maui’s best zip lines soaring through the fragrant eucalyptus trees on the slopes of Haleakala. Zipline space sells out so be sure to book your tickets in advance at www.zipline.com/zip4thetrees or call us at 808-419-7873. When: Saturday November 12th, 2016 from 8:00am-4:00pm. Adults Night Out

The 1st Annual Maui Chefs International as a multi-part culinary event. “It is always inspiring to work with those from different backgrounds and different expertise. I always learn something. Each time I am around other Chefs it turns up the volume on all the ideas I have been thinking about. ”
— Jeff Scheer, executive chef of The Mill House Maui, presents a selection of 7 chefs nominated and invited to showcase their artistry and collaborate in the spirit of creativity. It’s a weekend to engage your senses and indulge in creative cuisine. 5th annual “Taste of Asian Blend” is once again headlined by well known Kaanapali Beach Hotel Executive Chef Tom Muromoto, along with popular Maui restaurant owner Jennifer Nguyen of A Saigon Cafe’. This year’s event will feature ethnic combinations of our Asian as well as Portuguese and Hawaiian  ethnicities of Hawaii. Live entertainment by Alan Pascua, Jay Molina, and Dave Ray Toma. When: Saturday, November 5th, 2016. Where: King Kamehameha Golf Club.

The Arts & Culture

Jazz Maui presents their East Meets West Festival designed to promote cross-cultural musical collaborations and attract worldwide awarness. A special workshop wil be held on Friday, November 4th, trumpet soloist and recording artist, DeShannon Higa will conduct a jazz music workshop at King Kekaulike High School beginning at 2pm. The actual festival concert will take place on Saturday, November 5 at 6:30pm in ‘Iao Theatre on Market Street in Wailuku. The headline act will be Hawaii Jazz All-Stars featuring DeShannon Higa, along witth Maui’s Chop Suey Jazz Orchestra, youth taiko drum ensemble Zenshin Daiko, and King Kekaulike High School’s Na Ali’i Band will also perform. Tickets are available at MauiOnStage.com. Date: Friday, November 4th, 2016 to Saturday, November 5th, 2016. Time: 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm. 

Annually, Lahaina Town pays tribute to Dr. Sun Yat-Sen, known as The Father of Modern China. The Sun Yat-Sen Festival will be celebrating the 150th Anniversary of his birth with a new exhibit, film tributes and displays depicting the life of Sun Yat-sen from Maui to China. The festival will include a demonstration of Chinese martial arts on the museum lawn, cultural activities like calligraphy and knot tying. Also available are traditional Cantonese foods and Chinese teas in the garden. FREE admission. When: Friday, November 11th, 2016 to Saturday, November 12th, 2016 from 1:00pm-7:00pm. Where: Wo Hing Museum on Front Street.
