A Wailea Favorite: Pita Paradise
The Wailea location of Pita Paradise is now their flagship location that succeeds their previous Kihei Kalama Village restaurant. Tucked away at the beginning of Wailea in the Wailea Gateway shopping center, Pita Paradise is serving a mesh of Mediterranean and Italian recipes with dashes of Hawaii to round out their menu. The Gateway Center is the newer shopping center just uphill from the luxurious Shops at Wailea; if coming from Kihei, then at the corner of the end of the Piilani Highway.
The restaurant offers alfresco dining for those who want to enjoy the Wailea night out on their neatly decorated lanai. They also have their indoor seating to enjoy a cool environment. I personally love the bar seats with a nice little TV in the upper corner to keep mildly entertained. I also enjoy their friendly bartenders and their display of beers through the glass fridge doors behind the bar. The smells from the kitchen waft through the air occasionally and you can tell their cooking up some tasty food.

Their menu for lunch and dinner is the same with plenty of options for diners. They have a variety of appetizers, entree salads, pita sandwiches, pasta, and entrees, mostly with a Mediterranean flair. Chef Owner, John Arabatzis, catches the fish himself and then creates wonderfully fresh fish inspired creations. Chef John’s work is a meeting of imaginative blends of Mediterranean, Italian, and Local cuisine, borrowing a little from each to create dishes like their kalua pork or chicken teriyaki pita sandwich.

Decorating a wall is a large mural of Chef John fishing and catching his own catch to feature in his restaurant’s dishes. Pita Paradise Wailea does a great job of delivering excellent Mediterranean fusion dishes at good prices, and have an awesome staff to serve their customers. They also have a killer happy with $3 American beers, $4 imports, and $5 mix drinks. They also have a tapas menu: $6 mini Greek Burgers, $6-$9 pizzas, $4 humus.
