Maui Fourth of July

Can you believe Fourth of July is right around the corner? Be sure to celebrate Independence Day on Maui by checking out the following festivities:

Lahaina will be holding a concert on Front Street starting around 5:30 p.m. before a celebration of nighttime fireworks. Listen to jazz and popular songs from live bands like the Dejavu Band and Tarvin Makia and the Manutea Nui E Danceras.
The Maui Community Band will be performing patriotic tunes too. Before the concert, check out food, fun family activities and a Front Street Parade during the afternoon.

Although the Lahaina fireworks are free for everyone to see, you might want to try something a little different for this year’s Independence Day.
Cruises offer a unique and memorable way to enjoy the fourth of July. See the fireworks from the ocean through the Pacific Whale Foundation’s three cruises, which includes a non-alcoholic cruise. Double decker catamarans will take guests from the Maalaea Harbor and the Lahaina Harbor in the evening. For more information on pricing, departure times and ways to save see http://www.pacificwhale.org/cruises/Specialty-Cruises for details.

Makawao will hold a parade, starting on Baldwin Avenue and ending at the Eddie Tam Center. On the weekend closest to the fourth, Makawao will hold its annual rodeo festival. Be sure to bring the family and see rough stock and roping events and rodeo clowns. Live entertainment and dancing will be held throughout the festival.

No matter how you plan to celebrate, make sure to have a fun and safe holiday!
